Fewer students at JPS
Enrollment figures at Jamestown Public Schools are down slightly this year, officials said, whereas figures at other schools in town, and possibly the state, are up.

The Disabled American Veterans and Auxiliary will meet Sept. 7 at the All Vets Club. The meal will begin at 6 p.m. and the meeting will start at 7.
Local GOP to hold luncheon
The Republican Party’s Districts 12 and 29 Legislative Luncheon will be held at noon Sept. 8 at the Buffalo City Grille.
JPS will not hold classes Monday
Jamestown Public Schools will observe Labor Day. There will be no school Monday.
Homemakers offer scholarship
The Stutsman County Homemakers Council has a $500 educational scholarship available to a female resident of the county who is unemployed or underemployed and is intent on becoming gainfully employed to become economically independent.
