Grants awarded for school garden projects
Fourteen North Dakota schools and school-related programs are getting money for garden projects.
Kusler, Bon named alternates for camp
Gov. John Hoeven recently has announced Seth Grundstad of Williston (N.D) High School and Wyatt Mack of Hope (N.D.) High School have been selected by the Coalition for Conservation and Environmental Education to represent North Dakota as delegates at the National Youth Science Camp in West Virginia this summer.
Drenth will represent Jamestown in spelling bee
Marissa Drenth, a seventh-grader at Jamestown Middle School, will represent Jamestown Public Schools in the State Spelling Bee on March 26 in Bismarck.

Applications are being accepted Feb. 1 through March 31 for the U.S. Naval Academy Summer Seminar 2010. NASS is designed for students who will have just completed their junior year of high school in the summer of 2010.
Iverson admitted to NDSU with honors
Nikki Iverson, daughter of Steve and Arlette Iverson, Jamestown, has been admitted to North Dakota State University “With Distinction.” She will enter NDSU in fall 2010, but is undecided on a major. Distinction means that NDSU is acknowledging Iverson as an honor student.
Traiser named to dean’s list
Hartwick College junior Joshua Traiser, son of Shanda Traiser, Bismarck, and Joel Traiser, James-town, has been named to the fall term dean’s list at Hartwick.
Edgeley Speech Team competes
Clare Geinert and Ashley Boom, members of the Edgeley Speech Team, traveled to Shiloh Christian School Feb. 26 to compete against students from 26 schools in Shiloh’s invitational speech meet.
Sinner receives English honors
Senior Brett Sinner was elected as the January English Department Student of the month. Sinner is the son of Timothy and Karen Sinner of James-town. He was nominated by his English IV teacher, Darby Heinert, for his contributions to class discussions during lecture and for his writing skills.
