JVC Prowl finishes 6th in Minot

The Jamestown-Valley City Prowl finished sixth place at the Minot Invitational Tournament of Champions last weekend in Minot. The Prowl went 1-3, including a 6-1 loss to the Grand Forks Jets. John Halgrimson scored the goal for the Prowl, while Zach Hanson made 33 saves between the pipes.

Prowl Pee Wee A nips Dickinson 2-1

Nick Stevens and Austin Rene scored as the Jamestown-Valley City Prowl Pee Wee A team defeated Dickinson 2-1. Nick Urquhart, Seth Lind and Stockert registered assists and Josh Friesen had 24 saves as they improved to 14-16.

White Mites split weekend action

The Jamestown White Mites hockey went 2-2 last weekend, beating the Bismarck-Wahpeton Blades 2-1 and the Valley City Vipers 3-0.

Taz wrestlers post solid results

Paxton and Colton Mewes each placed first for the Jamestown Taz youth wrestling team at the Carrington Pitcrew Tournament Jan. 31. Fifteen Taz wrestlers placed in all, including second-place finishes from Jared Harr, Noah Grosulak, Noah Braun, Chris Erickson, Gideon Cole and Brandyn Harr.

The 11th annual Jimmie Baseball Camp is set for Feb. 20 at the Larson Center on the campus of Jamestown College.

Class B basketball: Rebels rally to win in OT

Edgeley-Kulm scored eight points in overtime to squeak past Central Prairie 57-55 Monday night in Gackle. The Rebels had to overcome a three-point deficit at the half. Both teams were deadlocked at 49-all at the end of regulation but Beau Diegel and Taylor Erickson both hit threes in overtime to lift the Rebels to victory.

The Jamestown College women’s basketball team dropped three spots in the latest NAIA basketball poll to No. 10. The Jimmies, who were ranked as high as fifth earlier this season, are 4-3 in their last seven games and are a half game behind Black Hills State (8-2, 19-5) in the DAC.

Cardinals’ Kurtz sings with Jimmie basketball

Carrington standout Kali Kurtz has signed a Dakota Athletic Conference letter of intent to attend Jamestown College and play basketball for the Jimmies. Kurtz, a four-year starter for the Cardinals, is a three-time all-District 7 performer. She has amassed 826 career points, 296 rebounds, 265 assists and 206 steals. The 5-7 guard also has made 132 three-pointers and 72 percent of her free throws.
