The body of rural Jamestown resident Ernest W. Wiese is carried into Highland Home Cemetery aboard a restored U.S. Army ambulance from the 1870s. The ambulance belongs to Custer’s 7th Cavalry, Company M, out of Minot. The group of reenactors is part of the Frontier Army of Dakota, to which Wiese was a member. Budd Redding, Velva, N.D., is driving the team and Wiese’s son, Ernie, is riding on the back.
