A Canadian Pacific train derailed Wednesday near Courtenay, N.D. Twenty-four cars derailed and an estimated additional 50 to 75 remained on the track. Of the derailed cars, nine were carrying pipeline pipe, four were empty grain cars and 11 were loaded grain cars, according to Mark Schlecht, train maintenance supervisor for Canadian Pacific, who was at the scene.
