Medina Lions members Marvin Dockter and Karl Limvere recently planted a bur oak in front of the Medina Heritage Center in recognition of the Lions District 5NC which served Lions Clubs in central North Dakota from 1981 to 2010. Lions Clubs throughout the former district participated in planting trees this spring to remember the work and service of the district which has now been assimilated into two other Lions Clubs districts. The Medina Heritage Center is open from 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays throughout the summer months and includes the museum in a former schoolhouse and an exhibit hall featuring a miniature replica of the Martel farm near Medina.
