North Dakota Gov. John Hoeven and first lady Mikey Hoeven are greeted with applause as they enter the House Chamber on Jan. 3, 2007, at a joint session of the 60th Legislative Assembly of the State of North Dakota on its opening day in Bismarck. Hoeven will transfer the governship to Lt. Gov. Jack Dalrymple on Tuesday.
