In April 2011, Mark Haegele stepped on an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan, losing both his legs. When the retired Marine first began working as a butcher at West Dakota Meats in Bismarck, his wheel chair was too low for the table to do his job. Now he sits on a taller stool to de-bone meat and trim fat from deer and cattle.
