Arlin Melgaard, 71, of Bemidji, Minn. was surprised Saturday when he was presented with the service medals and badges from his 40-year military career. His daughter, Angie Kamin of Fargo, worked to have the items reissued after they were stolen from his home at Christmas time two years ago.
