Students at Jamestown High School paid to wear hats on Friday to raise money for Mackenzie Gerzewski, who was diagnosed with a cancerous growth in her sinus cavity when she was a freshman. Now a junior, she ran into infection issues during reconstructive jaw surgery. A total of $2,318 was raised by students, staff and a collection at the Thursday JHS boys’ and girls’ basketball games.
