On Feb. 1, Deb Perleberg’s second-grade class at Pingree-Buchanan Public School enjoyed a “sick day.” This was a culmination of their study of germs and how to stay healthy. Kara Falk was the guest for the afternoon. She let students listen to each other’s hearts, check their reflexes, look into their throats, and participated in a couple of germ experiments. She also gave everyone their own mask (so they didn’t expose anyone else to their germs).
