John Donald Gomke, infant son of Jessica and Steven Gomke, De Soto, Iowa, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center, De Soto.
John was born Dec. 3, 2009.
He is survived by his parents; grandparents, Shelene Roberts-Thrane, Stuart, Iowa, and Roy and Barb Gomke, Jamestown; great-grandparents, Donald and Marilyn Roberts, Stuart, Jeanette Srozinski, Jamestown, and Ruth Gomke, Cleveland, N.D.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandfathers, John Gomke and Ralph Srozinski.
Services: held Jan. 9, Stuart-Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, Stuart. Arrangements by Johnson Family Funeral Home, Stuart.
Burial: Oakland Cemetery, De Soto.
Memorials: John Donald Gomke Memorial Fund, Wells Fargo Bank, 100 Nile Kinnick Drive N., Adel, Iowa 50003, and/or First State Bank, 215 North Division St., Stuart, Iowa 50250.

I am from jamestown and doctoring at mayo hospital. I am so sorry for your loss of this beautiful baby sent from god if only for a short period of time. I to lost a son in 2003 and was so saddened.
