Robert E. “Bob” Grahn, 67, Minot, N.D.

Robert E. “Bob” Grahn, 67, Minot, N.D., died Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010, at his home.

Mr. Grahn was born Jan. 30, 1942, at Wimbledon, N.D., the son of Otto and Florence (Sorem) Grahn. He grew up and graduated from Wimbledon High School, Wimbledon. He worked many jobs as a teenager including flagging for cropdusters and picking rock on the farm. He worked for Great Northern Railroad and retired after 41 years as a conductor and member of the United Transportation Union. He married Carol Jones on Feb. 5, 1966, in Jamestown. They lived in Minot. She died in 2003.

He is survived by a daughter, Kristen (Rick) Getzlaff, Minot; two sons, Jason, Minot, and DJ Johnson, New Rockford, N.D.; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Darla and Frank Lenzmeier, West Fargo, N.D.; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and a brother, Duane.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Minot.

Visitation: 2 to 7 p.m. today, Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
