Milford Schrader

Milford “Bus” Henry Schrader, 95, Jamestown, died Friday, Jan. 22, 2010, at Ave Maria Village, Jamestown. Mr. Schrader was born Jan. 24, 1914, at Adrian, N.D., the son of Henry W. and Beatrice (Witzig) Schrader.

Mr. Schrader was born Jan. 24, 1914, at Adrian, N.D., the son of Henry W. and Beatrice (Witzig) Schrader. He grew up and attended public school and high school at Adrian. He married Maxine Fai Crandell on Sept. 24, 1938, at Alice, N.D. They lived many places while he worked construction, which included Carson, Adrian and Dickey, all N.D., El Monte, Calif., Corvallis, Ore., and Walla Walla, Wash. In 1942, they moved to Adrian where they farmed until retiring in 1997. They spent many winters in Desert Hot Springs, Calif. She died Sept. 25, 2009. He entered Ave Maria Village in December 2009. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Jamestown. He enjoyed traveling.

He is survived by four sons, Larry (Maria), Jacksonville, Ariz., Murray (Edna), Adrian, Ken (Doris), Kimberling City, Mo., and Dwight (Anna), Jamestown; two daughters, Candace (Don) Podoll, Adrian, and Julie Schrader, Sun Valley, Idaho; a brother, Donald (Verna Mae), Jamestown; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife; a son, Ronald; his parents, two brothers and a sister.

Memorial service: 1:30 p.m. Monday, Ave Maria Village Chapel, with the Rev. David Thompson officiating.

Visitation: none scheduled. Arrangements by Haut Funeral Homes, Jamestown.
