Donna Mae Johnson, age 87, of Fargo, ND, formerly of Valley City, ND

Donna Mae Johnson, age 87, of Fargo, ND, formerly of Valley City, ND, died Friday, February 12, 2010 at Meritcare Hospital in Fargo, ND.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 18th at Faith Lutheran Church in Valley City. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Lerud-Johnson-Schuldt Funeral Home in Valley City and one hour before the service at the church on Thursday morning. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery near Valley City in the Spring.

Donna Mae Fagerstrom, the daughter of Edwin and Elma (Anderson) Fagerstrom, was born February 8, 1923. Donna lived in Crookston, MN and Valley City, ND as a girl. Donna married Warren K. Johnson on December 20, 1945. The couple lived south of Valley City where her parents had lived, but farmed north of Valley City near Luverne, ND where Warren’s father had farmed. Warren and Donna retired from farming in 1984 and spent several winters in Arizona. Donna led a very positive and creative life, spending time painting, cooking and others how to do the same. She took great pride in her loving relationship with her husband Warren and her entire family. Donna was beloved by all.

Donna is survived by her husband, Warren, Fargo, ND; two sons, Mark (Robin Huseby) Valley City, ND and Paul (Kay) Onalaska, WI; one daughter, Jeri (Terry) Thilmony, Detroit Lakes, MN; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
