Frank Swart, 72, Cleveland, N.D., died Thursday, April 29, 2010, at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown.
Mr. Swart was born Aug. 21, 1937, in Heaton, N.D., the son of Ralph and Dorothy (Myers) Swart. He grew up and attended rural school in the Heaton area. He farmed with his parents until he moved to Jamestown in 1973. He married Linda Lou Gunsch on Sept. 12, 1966, in Heaton. He was a rural mail carrier for several years, and later worked for the Coca-Cola plant and Reuben Scherbenske, both of Jamestown. He began working for the city of Jamestown as a sanitation engineer in 1979. He retired in 1991. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards.
He is survived by three sons, Marvin and Randy Olson, Holly, Mich., and Tyron Swart, Wimbledon, N.D.; a daughter, Terrie Olson, New Mexico; two sisters, Agnes Easton, Berea, Ky., and Mert Anderson, Webster, N.D.; two brothers, Charlie, Charleston, Ill., and Earl, Arizona; special friend, Dorothy Brown, Cleveland; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; two brothers; and twin grandchildren.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Jamestown, with the Rev. Gary Ball-Kilbourne officiating.
Visitation: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.
Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown.
