Gardell Hoff, 56, Bowdon, N.D., died Friday, July 9, 2010, at Carrington Health Center, Carrington, N.D., following a seven-year battle with cancer. Mr. Hoff was born May 17, 1954, at Harvey, N.D., the son of James and Anne (Patzer) Hoff.
Gardell Hoff, 56, Bowdon, N.D., died Friday, July 9, 2010, at Carrington Health Center, Carrington, N.D., following a seven-year battle with cancer.
Mr. Hoff was born May 17, 1954, at Harvey, N.D., the son of James and Anne (Patzer) Hoff. He grew up on the family farm southeast of Bowdon and began farming with his father at an early age. He graduated from Bowdon High School in 1972 and from North Dakota State University, Fargo, N.D., with a degree in agriculture education. He taught school for a short time in Rugby, N.D., and Beulah, N.D. He also continued to farm with his father. Following his father’s death in 1993, he took over the family farm where he farmed and raised cattle. He was a member of the Bowdon Community Church of God.
He is survived by a son, David (Roxane) Fike, Bowdon; two daughters, Kim (Bob) Blotsky, Menoken, N.D., and Kristen Fike, Memphis, Tenn; his mother, Bowdon; two brothers, Rodney (Marilyn), Bismarck, N.D., and Anton (Mary), Bowdon; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Bowdon School Auditorium, Bowdon.
Visitation: 2 to 6 p.m. today, Nelson Funeral Home, Fessenden.
Burial: Wayside
Cemetery, Bowdon.
