Donna Taxis Butler, 72, Mandan, N.D., formerly of Jamestown, died Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck, N.D. Donna Klein was born Jan. 29, 1938, in Strasburg, N.D., the daughter of Eugene Michael and Margaret (Baumgartner) Klein.
Donna Taxis Butler, 72, Mandan, N.D., formerly of Jamestown, died Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck, N.D.
Donna Klein was born Jan. 29, 1938, in Strasburg, N.D., the daughter of Eugene Michael and Margaret (Baumgartner) Klein. The family moved to Mandan. When she was a junior in high school, the family moved to Linton, N.D., where she graduated from Linton High School in 1955. She married Willis Taxis on Jan. 3, 1957. They lived in Jamestown before moving to Fargo, N.D., where she was employed by Dakota Bank for many years. She moved to Mandan in 1976, where she worked for Laducer Associates until her retirement in the mid 1990s. She married Walter Butler in 1977. She enjoyed horseshoes, reading and playing cards.
She is survived by her husband, Walter; two daughters, Cathy Taxis (Geno Sweeney), Fargo, and Connie (Jerry) Qual, Jamestown; a son, Michael (Dawn Weiss), Linton; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Bernadine, Virginia Ann, and Loretta; and two brothers, Albert and Norman.
Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan, with the Rev. Jack Carlson officiating.
Visitation: arrangements pending with the funeral home.
Burial: North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
