Joan Miller, 84, Pasco, Wash., died Tuesday, Aug. 3. 2010, in Pasco, Wash.
Joan Mary Sauter was born on July 4, 1926, in Fairmont, N.D. After high school, she entered nurses training in 1944 at Trinity Hospital, Jamestown, and graduated in 1947 from the Nurses Cadet Corp. She worked as head nurse in the nursery at Trinity Hospital until 1948. She married Floyd Miller, Buchanan, in 1948. They moved to Kennewick, Wash., in 1969. They became leaders in the Catholic charismatic renewal prayer meetings in the 1970s and later became members of Faith Assembly Christian Center. She served with her husband at several churches in Goldendale, Wapato, Mabton, Harrah, Basin City, Toppenish, Walla Walla, Oroville and Burbank, all Washington, between 1982 and 1991. He died in 2001.
She is survived by four sons, Dennis (Chris), Brian (Julie), Alan (Kathy), and Craig (Martha), all Kennewick, Wash.; two daughters, Julie (Pat) Jenkins, Kennewick, Wash., and Jeanette (Bill) Chvala, Richland, Wash.; two sisters, Elaine Imholte and Leah Becker, both Minnesota; 18 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial service: 11 a.m. Thursday, Faith Assembly Christian Center, Pasco.
Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Mueller’s Tri-Cities Funeral Home, Kennewick.
Burial: Desert Lawn Memorial Park, Kennewick.
