Blanche Blahna

Blanche L. Blahna, 93, Jamestown, died Friday, Oct. 15, 2010, at Eventide at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Center, Jamestown. Blanche Price was born Dec. 28, 1916, in Courtenay, N.D., the daughter of Orville and Gracie (Van Winkle) Price.

Blanche L. Blahna, 93, Jamestown, died Friday, Oct. 15, 2010, at Eventide at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Center, Jamestown.

Blanche Price was born Dec. 28, 1916, in Courtenay, N.D., the daughter of Orville and Gracie (Van Winkle) Price. She attended school in Wimbledon, N.D. She married Lance Blahna on Jan. 20, 1936, in Jamestown. She worked in the food and beverage industries for many years. She was a member of the Eagles, Disabled American Veterans and American Legion. She enjoyed sewing, dancing and music.

She is survived by five daughters, Darlis (Wilbert) Reister, Medina, N.D., Mary (John) Wentzell, Moorhead, Minn., Connie Harstad, Duluth, Minn., and Arla (Paul) Emo and Janeen (Ken) Tanata, both Jamestown; 22 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a son; her parents; a brother; and a son-in-law.

Services: 1 p.m. Monday, Eventide at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Center, Jamestown, with Chaplain David Fisher officiating.

Visitation: 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown.

Memorials: in lieu of flowers, to the Dream Team at Eventide at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Center or charity of choice.
