John Doll, 78, Napoleon, N.D., died Friday, July 22, 2011, at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck, N.D.
Mr. Doll was born Feb. 13, 1933, at Kintyre, N.D., the son of George and Katherine (Wald) Doll. He grew up at Kintyre and attended rural school and two years at Napoleon High School, Napoleon. He married Theresia Schmidt on Sept. 2, 1957, at St. Boniface Catholic Church near Napoleon. They farmed on the Doll family farm. He worked for the ASCS office and city of Napoleon. In 2006, they retired from farming and moved to Napoleon. He was a member and trustee of St. Boniface Church and a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church and Napoleon Fire Department. He enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by his wife; four sons, Duane (Gail), Jamestown, Marvin (Karen), Elgin, N.D., Jim (Viann), Bismarck, and Paul (Sherri), Hazen, N.D.; two daughters, Karen (Les) Christensen, Wishek, N.D., and Sharon (Ben) Jacob, Cooperstown, N.D.; a brother, Matt, Moorhead, Minn.; two sisters, Katie (Alex) Bosch and Barbara Bosch, both Bismarck; 19 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers, three sisters and two grandchildren.
Services: 3 p.m. today, St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Napoleon. Arrangements by Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Napoleon.
Burial: St. Philip Neri Catholic Cemetery, Napoleon.
