Doris Heaney

Doris M Heaney, age 79, of Grand Forks ND, formerly of Jamestown ND, Grafton ND, & Highland IL passed away on Friday, September 23 2011 at the Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. Doris was born on April 17, 1932 in Highland IL, the daughter of Anton V. and Cordellia M (Rochelle) Gramlich. She graduated from St Paul’s High School in 1950. She then moved & worked in St Louis MO until united in marriage to Allen J Heaney on July 27, 1957 in Highland, IL. They moved to Grafton ND in 1972. Besides being a housewife and raising children, Doris worked at the theaters in Grafton, waitressed in Grafton, Jamestown & Grand Forks. For the last 9 years, she was a Foster Grandmother rocking babies at the YMCA. Doris was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

Doris is survived by her children: Mary (Gerald) Schnellbach, Grafton ND; Terri Otto, Devils Lake ND; Patti (Peter) Stoute, Grand Forks ND; Chris (Lynnette) Heaney, Jamestown ND; Tony Heaney, Plymouth MN. Her brother: Don (Donna) Gramlich; Sisters-in law: Elvie Gramlich, Carol Gramlich; Brothers-in-law: Darwin Yann, Wayne Dibert all from Highland IL. She also has 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, cousins, nieces & nephews.

Doris is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Jerome & Paul Gramlich; sisters Pauline Yann & Carol Kuhner Dibert and brother-in-law Ronald Kuhner.

Funeral Service: 1:00 PM on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 in Holy Family Catholic Church, 1018 18th Ave. S., Grand Forks, ND

Visitation: 5:00 – 7:00 with a 6:30 PM Prayer Service on Monday, September 26, 2011 in Stennes Dahl Funeral Home of East Grand Forks, MN

Interment: Calvary Cemetery ~ Grand Forks, ND
