Edwin Suko, 85, Jamestown, ND died early Sunday morning October 23, 2011 at Sanford Health, Palliative Care in Fargo, ND.
Edwin Suko was born May 6, 1926 in Alexander Township, NE of Gackle, ND, the son of Reinhold Suko and Christina (Obenauer) Suko. He received his elementary education in the local rural school and grew to manhood in the vicinity where he helped on the family farm.
He and Loretta Krieger were married July 2, 1950 at the UCC Church in Gackle, ND. They made their home on his parents homestead NE of Gackle until 1985 when they retired and moved into Jamestown, ND.
He was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Jamestown, ND, the Eagles, Elks, Gackle School Board, Klose Elevator Board and Alexander Township Board.
Surviving are his wife Loretta, Jamestown, ND, one son Mark Suko, Jamestown, ND, one daughter and son-in-law, Sandra (Jack) Brelie, Grand Forks, ND, 2 grandchildren, Jason and Nicole, 1 brother Martin (Helen) Suko, Jamestown, ND, 1 sisters Ruth Gomke, Cleveland, ND, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers Sam and Gotthilf, 6 sisters Amelia, Bertha, Louise, Minnie, Rose and Dorothy, and two sisters in infancy.
Funeral Service will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday October 26, 2011 in the Haut Funeral Chapel in Jamestown, ND with Rev. Darcy Borden, officiating.
Interment will be made in the Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, ND.
Visitation 9-8 Tuesday at the funeral home.
Prayer Service: 7:00 PM Tuesday evening at the Funeral Home
Arrangements are by the Haut Funeral Home in Jamestown, ND.
