Jacob Hulm

Jacob Hulm, 92, of Bismarck, ND, formerly of Edgeley, ND, died Wednesday, December 14, 2011 surrounded by his family under hospice care. Mr. Hulm was born on June 7, 1919, in Emmons County on the home farm near Strasburg, ND, the son of Anton and Cecelia (Wagner) Hulm.

Jacob Hulm, 92, of Bismarck, ND, formerly of Edgeley, ND, died Wednesday, December 14, 2011 surrounded by his family under hospice care.

Mr. Hulm was born on June 7, 1919, in Emmons County on the home farm near Strasburg, ND, the son of Anton and Cecelia (Wagner) Hulm. He attended the country school in Emmons County and then farmed with his parents. He married Perpetua Braun at Trinity Catholic Church, near Strasburg on June 25, 1940. They rented a farm southeast of Strasburg, then moved to Timber Lake, SD for a short time before moving back to Strasburg in 1943. They lived near Strasburg until moving to Edgeley, ND in 1950. They retired from farming and moved to Bismarck in 1997.

Jacob was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Bismarck; the Knights of Columbus, Edgeley and Bismarck; and the Jamestown Eagles club.

Jacob is survived by his wife of 71 years; one son, Ronald, Bismarck; one daughter, Marie (Robert) Smith, Adrian, ND; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; sister, Eva (Dean) Raymond, Ocala, FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Michael Smith; daughter-in-law, Sharon Hulm; 4 brothers; and 1 sister.

Eucharist of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Transfiguration Catholic Church, Edgeley, ND.

Visitation: 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, December 19, 2011 at Transfiguration Catholic Church, Edgeley, ND.

Vigil: 7:00 p.m., Monday, December 19, 2011 at Transfiguration Catholic Church, Edgeley, ND.

Burial: Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Edgeley, ND.
