Verla Withnell was born March 24, 1922. She and Oscar Fregien were married August 26, 1942 and lived in the Jud area. She and Richard Nitschke were married June 26, 1949. They continued to live in the Jud area until moving to Mandan in 1986.
She is survived by 1 son, Kent (Jan) Fregien, Redwing, MN; 2 daughters, Cheryl (Dale) Schulz, Center, ND; JoWella (Rick) Bennett, Mandan, ND; 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Melvin (Lee Ann) Withnell, Pueblo, CO, and 1 sister, Della Mayer, Bemidji, MN.
Funeral service - 11:00 AM Monday January 2, 2012 at the United Methodist Church in Jud, ND.
Interment - United Church of Christ Cemetery in Jud, ND.
Visitation: 4-7 Sunday January 1, 2012 at the Haut Funeral Chapel in Jamestown, ND
Prayer Service: 7:00 PM Sunday at the Haut Funeral Chapel in Jamestown, ND
