Donald R. Reister, 74, Crowley, TX, formerly of Jamestown, ND, went to be with the Lord on January 7, 2012. Don was born September 11, 1937 in Jamestown, the son of Fred and Ann (Burkhardt) Reister.
Donald R. Reister, 74, Crowley, TX, formerly of Jamestown, ND, went to be with the Lord on January 7, 2012.
Don was born September 11, 1937 in Jamestown, the son of Fred and Ann (Burkhardt) Reister. He graduated from Jamestown High School in 1956. Don served in the US Army from 1956-1959 and spent most of his time in Okinawa, Japan. He was a member of the Army Signal Corp. After the service, Don went to Los Angeles, CA to work and live for the majority of his life. He had a definite love for the LA Dodger baseball team. For a short time Don lived in South Sioux City, NE, where he also became a Nebraska Cornhusker fan. He also took a few college courses from the University of Nebraska. He was a retiree of the US Postal Service. Don was active in the community after his retirement, working at various local jobs and volunteering in and around Crowley, TX, where he had lived the last 13 years of his life.
Don is survived by his wife, Pat Reister, Crowley, TX; and two sisters, Frieda Prochnow and Janice Brophy, both of Jamestown.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Walter Reister; and one sister, Loreta Bellon.
Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Friday, January 13, 2012 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, with Pastor Arlyn Coalter officiating.
Visitation: 1:00 to 5:00 PM, Thursday, January 12, 2012 and 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Friday, January 13, 2012 at the Eddy Funeral Home.
Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, ND.
