Jean Janell Kalmbach, 67, of Edgeley, North Dakota entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 17, 2012 at Essentia Hospital in Fargo surrounded by her family.

Jean Janell Kalmbach, 67, of Edgeley, North Dakota entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 17, 2012 at Essentia Hospital in Fargo surrounded by her family.

Jean was born on March 16, 1944 in Edgeley to Jacob and Martha (Wegenast) Moench. She grew up on the family farm outside of town until moving into Edgeley where she received her education. Jean graduated from Edgeley High School in 1962.

After graduation, Jean married and lived in Kentucky for a short time. When she moved back to Edgeley in 1970, Jean met and married Edgar Kalmbach in 1975. They resided on a farm Northwest of Edgeley and raised four children.

Jean was an avid wife and mother. Her love of cooking began at an early age when she would help make kuchen every morning with her mother to sell locally. In addition to her “famous” baking skills, Jean enjoyed gardening and quilting at the Zion Lutheran Church, where she was a member.

Jean is survived by her husband, Eddie, of Edgeley; Two daughters, Teri Paytner of Maple Grove, MN and Kelly (Richard) Carruth of St. Cloud, MN; and Two sons, Chad and Nathan Kalmbach, both of Edgeley, ND; One granddaughter, Jessica Carruth of St. Cloud, MN; Two sisters, Isabel Heidinger of Lodi, CA and Leona Kinzler of Brooklyn Park, MN; and one sister-in-law, Selma Moench of Jamestown, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Clifford, Ted, and Melvin Moench; and one granddaughter, Sarah.

Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at the Zion Lutheran Church, Edgeley, ND with Rev. Allen Eppen officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 20, 2012 at the Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel in Edgeley, ND.

Prayer Service: 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 20, 2012 at the Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel in Edgeley, ND.

Burial: Mt. Hope Cemetery, Edgeley, ND.
