Esther Schumacher, 82, of Jamestown, ND, died Monday, March 19, 2012 at a Bismarck Hospital. Esther Pfaff was born July 12, 1929, in Tappen, ND, the daughter of Simon and Katherine (Mittleider) Pfaff.
Esther Schumacher, 82, of Jamestown, ND, died Monday, March 19, 2012 at a Bismarck Hospital.
Esther Pfaff was born July 12, 1929, in Tappen, ND, the daughter of Simon and Katherine (Mittleider) Pfaff. She married Joe Schmidt on March 14, 1945. Joe died on July 1, 1969. Esther married Roland “Smoky” Eberhardt on August 5, 1973. He died on March 1, 1984. She married Jim Schumacher on June 15, 1985. They made their home in Jamestown where she was a member of St. James Basilica. She enjoyed camping, fishing, jigsaw puzzles, and spending time with family and friends.
Esther is survived by her husband, Jim Schumacher, Sr., Jamestown; four children, Joe (Jeannie) Schmidt, Jamestown, Julie (David) Baker, Rapid City, SD, and Cindy (Mark Howard) Schmidt, Medora, ND, Cody Schmidt, Sioux Falls, SD; four step-children, Frank (Deeann) Schumacher, Jamestown, Jim (Debbie) Schumacher, Jr., Jamestown, Linda (Dennis) Michel, Jamestown, and Randy (Missy) Schumacher, Jamestown; 17 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; two brothers, David (Marcy) Pfaff, Tappen, and Elmer (Betty) Pfaff, Tappen; two sisters, Bertha Roemmich, Jamestown, and Mary (Harold) Weixel, Jamestown.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Joe Schmidt and Roland “Smoky” Eberhardt; one son, Jake; and four brothers, John, Art, Simon, and Jake.
Eucharist of Christian Burial –10:00 a.m., Friday, March 23, 2012 at St. James Basilica, Jamestown.
Visitation – 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.
Prayer Service - 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.
Interment – Fisher Cemetery, Tappen, North Dakota.
