James Lloyd Erickson, age 73, of Carrington, ND, passed away Friday, March 30, 2012, at Med Center One in Bismarck, ND, after a 6 month battle with cancer.

James Lloyd Erickson, age 73, of Carrington, ND, passed away Friday, March 30, 2012, at Med Center One in Bismarck, ND, after a 6 month battle with cancer.

James Lloyd Erickson was born on June 4, 1938, the son of Lloyd and Blanch (Bijold) Erickson at Carrington. He attended and graduated from Carrington High School in 1956.

On May 28, 1961, James was united in marriage to Charlotte Pulst in Carrington. They made their home in Carrington where Jim operated the Motor Supply and later went into the J.I. Case business, along with his father, Lloyd and brother, Bob. They moved to Bismarck for six years and then returned to Carrington. Jim worked at Crossroads Golf Course and drove school bus for Carrington School District.

He was a member of the Carrington City Council and served as Mayor in 1976. Jim was President of the ND Implement Dealers Association and served on the Board of Directors. He was a member of Elks Lodge 1199, Knights of Columbus and National Guard.

Jim is survived by his wife, Charlotte, Carrington; one son, Bradley (Sharon), Bismarck; two daughters, Cindy (Kent) Hewitt, and Sherry (Paul) Roller, both of Carrington; five grandsons and one granddaughter, Seth and Jacob Erickson, Bismarck, Tyler and Austin Hewitt, Madeline and Ethan Roller, all of Carrington; two brothers, George and Robert (Linda), both of Carrington; and one sister Muriel Eklund, Sun City, AZ.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister-in-law, Lois and brother-in-law, Gil.

Visitation: Tuesday, 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM at Evans Funeral Home, Carrington, ND.

Funeral Service: Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Carrington, ND Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at 10:30 AM

Interment: Carrington Cemetery, Carrington, ND
