Leah Ernst, 91, of Merricourt, ND, died Thursday, April 26, 2012 at her home. Leah Bollinger was born on the family farm in Potsdam Township, near Merricourt, ND, the daughter of Gottlieb and Johanna (Biederstedt) Bollinger.
Leah Ernst, 91, of Merricourt, ND, died Thursday, April 26, 2012 at her home.
Leah Bollinger was born on the family farm in Potsdam Township, near Merricourt, ND, the daughter of Gottlieb and Johanna (Biederstedt) Bollinger. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school in the area. Leah married John Ernst in Ellendale, ND on June 21, 1941. They lived on the Fred Stahlecker farm, and then purchased a farm near Merricourt where their home has been since. John died in 1994.
Leah enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, and her flowers.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Edgeley.
Leah is survived by her son, Jerald Ernst, Merricourt; two grandsons, Jared Ernst, Mandan, ND and Jason Ernst, Merricourt; one great grandson, Keiffer Ernst; and one brother, Fred Bollinger, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 4 sisters; and 6 brothers, one in infancy.
Funeral Service: 1:30 p.m., Monday, April 30, 2012 at Zion Lutheran Church, Edgeley, ND.
Visitation: 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m., Sunday, April 29, 2012 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Edgeley.
Interment: Mt. Hope Cemetery, Edgeley, ND.
