Gerald “Jerry” Ferguson, age 76, of Carrington, ND, died Thursday, May 31,2012, at Golden Acres Manor in Carrington, ND.

Gerald “Jerry” Ferguson, age 76, of Carrington, ND, died Thursday, May 31,2012, at Golden Acres Manor in Carrington, ND.

Gerald Dean Ferguson was born on December 30, 1935, the son of Harry and Grace (Indergaard) Ferguson in Carrington, ND. He was raised in the Carrington and Bordulac areas, graduating from Bordulac High School in 1955.

On August 19, 1977, Jerry was united in marriage to Elaine (Zimmerman) Carson. He owned and operated Jerry’s Zipper and Shoe Repair for many years in Carrington.

He was a member of Church of the Nazarene in Carrington. Jerry enjoyed bird watching, going for coffee with his friends, fishing, playing cards and dice games, and he was an avid Carrington Cardinal fan.

Jerry is survived by 5 daughters, Jodi (Jeff) Sorel, Big Lake, MN, Jahn (Bill) Bosma, Chardon, OH, Jamie (Stacy) Snodie, Maplewood, MN, Jeanne (Dan) Ferguson and Cheryl Ferguson, Both of St. Paul, MN; three stepsons, Gregg (Tami) Carson, Carrington, ND, Thomas (Lori) Carson, Yuba City, CA, Richard Carson, Fargo, ND; two step daughters, Teresa Carson, Woodland, WA and Lori (Aaron) Dauner, Madison, MS; 25 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; one sister, Marlene (Buff) Ekren, Kensal, ND; one brother, Harry (Patsy) Ferguson, Rugby, ND; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine; his parents and one sister, Delores (John) Wolf.

Visitation: Tuesday, 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM at Evans Funeral Home, Carrington, ND

Funeral Service: Carrington High School Gymnasium, Carrington, ND, Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at 2:00 PM
