Rebecca “ Becky” Schroeder, age 60, of Carrington, ND, died Friday, July 20, 2012, at Golden Acres Manor, Carrington, ND. Rebecca Sue Wobbema was born on January 26, 1952, the daughter of Peter Jr. and Donna (Parks) Wobbema at Carrington. She was raised near Carrington and attended grade school at Estabrook Township and graduated from Carrington High School in 1970.

Rebecca “ Becky” Schroeder, age 60, of Carrington, ND, died Friday, July 20, 2012, at Golden Acres Manor, Carrington, ND.

Rebecca Sue Wobbema was born on January 26, 1952, the daughter of Peter Jr. and Donna (Parks) Wobbema at Carrington. She was raised near Carrington and attended grade school at Estabrook Township and graduated from Carrington High School in 1970.

On September 19, 1971, Becky was united in marriage to Lynn Schroeder at Grace Lutheran Church in Carrington. They shared their lives on a farm east of Carrington where they raised their family.

Becky was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where she was the secretary for over 40 years. She worked as a waitress at Mildred’s and as a clerk at Borth and Spiedel’s Department Store for a short time before being married. Later she also worked for Schroeder/Lund Auction Service as a clerk. She taught Sunday School, Bible School and confirmation and held every office in LWML. She also served many offices for AAL and later Thrivent for many years. She was a member of the FFA Advisory Board and the Housing Authority Board. Becky was one of the founders, cooked and organized deliveries for Carrington’s Thanksgiving Day Dinner. She also started and coordinated the Food Bank Truck as a stopping point for Carrington. She was an active supporter of the Angel Tree program ensuring all the tags were filled at the church. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed growing flowers, reading, and canning. Her true passion in life was her family. She actively supported her children and the lights of her life her 3 grandsons. She loved attending their football games and wrestling matches.

Becky will be remembered and deeply missed by her husband, Lynn; her son, Kyle (Jacqueline) and daughter, Wendy, all of Carrington; three grandsons, Brett, Cordell, Bradee; seven sisters, Patricia (Ron) Gienger, Valley City, ND, Joni Parks, Carrington, Sandy Pierson, Leeds, ND, Nannette (Curt) Solvey, Thermopolis, WY, Michelle Richardson, Jamestown, ND, Bette (Robert) Abell, Wahpeton, ND, Tina Hermanson, New Rockford, ND,; five brothers, Larry (Jeanne) Wobbema, New Rockford, Robert (Jolene) Wobbema, Sioux Center, IA, Jeff (Linda) Wobbema, Minot, ND, Bill Wobbema, LaCrosse, WI, and Jim (Anne) Wobbema, Barlow, ND.

She was greeted in heaven by her parents; and two sisters, Peggy and Debbie.

Visitation: Monday, 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM at Evans Funeral Home, Carrington, ND

Funeral Service: Grace Lutheran Church, Carrington, ND
