John Paulson

John M. Paulson, age 91, of Carrington, ND, died Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd in New Rockford, ND. John Merrill Paulson was born on July 12, 1921, the son of Albert and Anna (Sorbel) Paulson on the family farm south of Carrington.

John M. Paulson, age 91, of Carrington, ND, died Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd in New Rockford, ND.

John Merrill Paulson was born on July 12, 1921, the son of Albert and Anna (Sorbel) Paulson on the family farm south of Carrington. He grew up on the farm and attended Carrington school. He joined the National Guard Company F 164 Infantry in Carrington. As war broke out, the US Army called up Company F into active duty. John served in the South Pacific during WWII and was awarded the Bronze Star. After being Honorably Discharged, John finished his education and received his GED.

On October 20, 1946, John was united in marriage to Natalie Caroline Neuman at Calvary Baptist Church in Carrington. Over the years, John worked a variety of jobs including Carrington Turkey Farm, Chevy garage; Foster Co. Independent, Carrington Post Office, and he farmed.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, family, church, playing his guitar for his children and grandchildren, caring for his lawn and garden, talking to and meeting new people. John was the last charter member of Grace Lutheran Church, a member of VFW and American Legion in Carrington.

John will be remembered and deeply missed by his wife, Natalie; three children, Miles (Bonnie) Paulson, Manning, ND, Arlys (Dale) Williams, Chinook, MT, and Douglas Paulson, Manning, ND; four grandchildren, Craig (Katie) Paulson, Shelley Paulson, Annalena Williams and Aubrey Williams; two great grandchildren, “the little cowboys” Max and Lucas Paulson; and one brother, Luther Paulson, Carrington.

He was greeted in heaven by his parents, Albert and Anna; and three brothers, Alvin, Clifford, and Gordon.

Visitation: Sunday, 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM at Evans Funeral Home, Carrington, ND.

Funeral Service: Grace Lutheran Church, Carrington, ND

Monday, September 24, 2012 at 2:00 PM

Interment: Carrington Cemetery, Carrington, ND
