Alvina Mitchell Middleman Meyer, 96, Montpelier, ND, died Sunday, October 28, 2012 at Eventide at Hi-Acres, Jamestown. Alvina was born April 28, 1916 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada to William and Tillie (Rode) Mitchell.

Alvina Mitchell Middleman Meyer, 96, Montpelier, ND, died Sunday, October 28, 2012 at Eventide at Hi-Acres, Jamestown.

Alvina was born April 28, 1916 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada to William and Tillie (Rode) Mitchell. As a young woman she came to the Montpelier, ND area with her sister, Mary. She married Bill Middleman and they farmed for a short time. After his death, she bought a home in Montpelier. On March 3, 1952 Alvina married John Meyer in Flagstaff, AZ. She worked as a nurses aide at various nursing homes and the North Dakota State Hospital, from where she retired. She took great pride in her yard and flowers.

Alvina is survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; parents; four brothers and three sisters.

Funeral Service: 10:00 AM, Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, with Pastor Thomas Puffe officiating.

No visitation is scheduled.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, ND

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial to Roseadele Nursing Home or the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 8th Ave, 7th floor, New York City, NY 10001.
