LuElla Gushwa, 94, Jamestown, ND died Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at her home. LuElla Esther Perleberg was born February 13, 1919 at Buchanan, ND, the daughter of Herman and Elvina (Buetow) Perleberg.

LuElla Gushwa, 94, Jamestown, ND died Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at her home.

LuElla Esther Perleberg was born February 13, 1919 at Buchanan, ND, the daughter of Herman and Elvina (Buetow) Perleberg. She was baptized in the Frontier Village Church and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church. In 1938 she moved to Maynard, MN for two years where she was employed in a grocery store. She returned to North Dakota and moved with her parents to the Jamestown area in 1940. On November 5, 1943 LuElla married Wendall R. “Bud” Gushwa in Rev. Keller’s house in Jamestown. They lived in Valley City until 1954 when they returned to Jamestown. Bud passed away April 28, 1986. LuElla was employed at Land ‘O Lakes in Valley City, Jim’s Super Valu, County Market and White Drug store in Jamestown.

LuElla was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and Theos.

LuElla is survived by a daughter, Marion (Duane) Olson, Bismarck, ND and a son, Gary W. (Kim) Gushwa, Texas; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and one brother, Walter Perleberg, Eldridge, ND.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; four brothers, Albert, Alva, Rudy and Arthur; and five sisters, Vera, Della, Esther, Viola and Linda.

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Monday, November 26, 2012 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Jamestown, with Pastors Lucinda Lien and Bryce Tahran officiating.

Visitation: 2:00 to 5:00 PM, Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, ND
