Clarence Schlecht, 88, Medina, ND died Friday November 23, 2012 at the Essentia Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Clarence Schlecht, 88, Medina, ND died Friday November 23, 2012 at the Essentia Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Clarence was born March 20, 1924 near Fredonia, ND, the son of Rudolph Schlecht and Magdelina (Gunsch) Schlecht. In 1929 his family moved to a farm SE of Medina. He attended the local rural school and later attended Medina High School. In 1938 he entered the Civilian Conservation Corp.

He and Lorine Mayer were married November 25, 1945 at Medina, ND. They made their home on a farm SE of Medina where they farmed. In 1989 they retired and continued to live on the farm. Following the death of Lorine, June 14, 2010, he continued to live on the farm, until entering the Ave Maria Village in August of 2011.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Medina, and was very active in the church having taught Sunday School for 65 years. He was on the Stirton Township Board, the Cenex Board for 39 years and he also was a board member of the Stutsman County Farmer’s Union.

He is survived by 1 son, Paul (Rhonda) Schlecht, Medina, ND; 2 daughters, Karen (Jack) Lueck, Spiritwood, ND; Korreen (Randy) Mason, Roseau, MN; 8 grandchildren, Cole Schlecht, Caitlin Schlecht, Collin Schlecht, JP (Lexie) Lueck, Nathan (Amber) Lueck, Lenae (Joe) Bear, Steven Mason, Sarah Mason; 4 great grandchildren, Markell Lueck and Jacie Bear, Emry Lueck, Rhian Lueck; 2 brothers, Gideon Schlecht; Alvin (Arlene) Schlecht, all of Medina, ND; 3 sisters, Leona (Marvin) Moser, Medina, ND; Alvina (John) Broste, Bismarck, ND; and Hilda Limbacher, CA, and he was blessed by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and 2 brothers.

Funeral service - 10:30 AM Wednesday November 28, 2012 in the United Methodist Church, Medina, ND

Burial - Medina Cemetery at Medina, ND.

Prayer Service - 7:30 p.m. Tuesday November 27, 2012 at the Haut Funeral Chapel

Visitation - 9-7 Tuesday at the Haut Funeral Chapel in Jamestown.
