Charles “Chuck” Hoppe Sr., age 61, of Carrington, ND, died Monday, November 26, 2012, at St. Alexius Hospital in Bismarck, ND.
Charles LeRoy Hoppe was born on November 15, 1951, the son of Paul Sr. and Margaret (Wobbema) Hoppe at Carrington, ND. He was born, raised and attended school in Carrington. Chuck worked for his father Paul Sr., his brother John Sr. and Klocke Construction before starting his own construction company, Central City Builders, Inc. in 1981-2009.
On August 8, 1970, Chuck was united in marriage to Maxine Duda in Carrington.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, guns, reloading shells, watching wildlife and classic cars. He was probably most known for his joking personality. Chuck was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Carrington, NRA, and Eagles in New Rockford, ND.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Maxine; one son, Charles (LeaAnn) Hoppe Jr., Carrington; one daughter, Lisa (Loren) Zuraff, Bismarck, ND; nine grandchildren, Ryan Carr, Brittni Carr, Kristopher Goter, MacKenzie Goter, Jesse Zuraff, Matthew Zuraff, Loren Zuraff Jr., Kaitlyn Zuraff, Rylee Zuraff; one great-grandson, Jayce Zuraff; two brothers, Paul (Barbara) Hoppe Jr., Carrington, and James Hoppe, Apache Junction, AZ; three sisters, Margaret (Clarence) Frappier, McHenry, ND, Elizabeth (Darrell) Anderson, Sheyenne, ND; Linda Olson, Cokato, MN; one brother-in-law, Gene Tischleder, Cokato, MN; and one sister-in-law, Yvonne Hoppe, Carrington.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Travis; one brother, John; one sister, Violet Tischleder; two nephews, John Hoppe Jr. and Kevin Hoppe.
Visitation: Thursday, 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM at Evans Funeral Home, Carrington, ND.
Funeral Service: Trinity Lutheran Church, Carrington, ND Friday, November 30, 2012 at 2:30 PM
Interment: Carrington Cemetery, Carrington, ND
