William “Bill” H. Boelke, age 82, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at his home in Spokane, Wash., on Dec. 4, 2012.
William “Bill” H. Boelke, age 82, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at his home in Spokane, Wash., on Dec. 4, 2012.
Bill was born Nov. 3, 1930, in Jamestown, N.D., the son of William and Bertha (Wescom) Boelke. He grew up in the Jamestown area and graduated from high school in 1948. He entered the U.S. Army, became a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne during the Korean War and was honorably discharged. He returned to Jamestown, and then graduated from NDSU with a degree in electrical engineering. He worked 30 years for the U.S. government as an electrical engineer.
He is survived by his wife Vivian of 57 years, two daughters, two sons, three grandsons, three great-grandchildren and his sister, Patricia (James) Romelfanger, Jamestown, N.D.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Deborah Boelke.
Military services were held Dec. 12th at Veterans Memorial Scatter Gardens at Medical Lake, Wash.
