Dorothy Isgrig, 104, longtime resident of Glenfield, North Dakota, passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at Bethany Nursing Home in Fargo, ND. Dorothy Bernice Overbeck was born January 29, 1908 at West Union, Iowa. At the age of six she moved to a farm near Glenfield with her parents Nellie and George Overbeck. She married Seth Elvy Isgrig July 30, 1928.

Dorothy Isgrig, 104, longtime resident of Glenfield, North Dakota, passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at Bethany Nursing Home in Fargo, ND.

Dorothy Bernice Overbeck was born January 29, 1908 at West Union, Iowa. At the age of six she moved to a farm near Glenfield with her parents Nellie and George Overbeck. She married Seth Elvy Isgrig July 30, 1928. She worked at the local stores in Glenfield. Dorothy and Elvy owned and briefly operated a restaurant and then a general store in Glenfield for decades. After retiring from the general store they began upholstering furniture and weaving rugs. Dorothy was known for being a great bread maker, cook, gardener and seamstress. She wrote the Glenfield news for the Foster County Independent and Griggs County Sentinel from age 90 to 100. She was a devoted grandmother, mother, wife, sister, daughter and aunt. She loved conversations and coffee with friends.

She is survived by her son Colonel Elvin (Carol) Isgrig of Fargo; daughter Shirley (Don) Iverson of Moorhead; sister Ruby (Joseph) Paczkowski of Jamestown; sister-in-law Sybil Eubanks of Esterville, IA; four grandchildren: Loral (Dan) Iverson-Hannaher of Fargo, Karen (Allan) Iverson-Kroeker of Santa Barbara, CA and Petra Iverson of Minneapolis and Jason (Karen) Isgrig of Fargo; step-granddaughters Margaret (Dan) Gregory of Columbus, OH; Susie Knapp of Cedarville, MI; great-grandchildren Lily Hannaher, Josh, Jesse, Tyler and Ashley Isgrig; step-great-grandchildren Audra, Amy, Jacob and Stephen Knapp and James, Patrick and Michael Gregory. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Seth Elvy, her parents Nellie and George Overbeck; sister Gladys Feske; brothers Leo, Harold, Clifford and Gayle Overbeck; parents-in-law Edwin and Sybil Isgrig; sisters-in-law Olga, Joyce, June and Minnie Overbeck, Helen and Nellie Isgrig; brothers-in-law Edwin, Vern, Doran, Lester and Lyle Isgrig, Daymond Eubanks, Joseph Paczkowski and Oscar Feske.
