VerDella Mae Nitschke, 69, Jamestown, ND went home to be with her Lord December 30, 2012 after a brave battle with cancer.
VerDella was born March 3, 1943 in Jamestown, ND, to Rueben Hust and Frieda (Remmick) Lehr. VerDella attended school in Tappen and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1962.
Della married Emmett D. Nitschke on April 17, 1965 at Jamestown, ND. They lived in Oregon, Alaska and settled in Jamestown to raise their family. Della continued her education through the North Dakota State Hospital where she retired from in 1995.
Della was a member of the Temple Baptist Church. She loved crossword puzzles, reading romance novels, avid football fan, playing cards, and going to her grandchildren’s sporting events, plays and programs.
Della is survived by her husband of 40 years, Emmett, Jamestown, ND; 2 daughters, Victoria (Rodney) Starkey, Teurina (Richard) DiLallo, 1son, Martin Nitschke, all of Jamestown, ND; 7 grandchildren, Joshua & KaSea Larson, Andrew Benson, Tyson Clemens, Alicia Nitschke, Elizabeth & Nicolas DiLallo, and 1 great grandson, Zayden Nitschke, 1 brother, Clifford (Marlene) Hust, and 1 sister, Marlys Hust, both of Jamestown, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and 1 brother, LeeRoy who passed away December 13, 2012.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 A. M. Friday January 4, 2013 in the Temple Baptist Church in Jamestown, ND with Pastor Randy Jaspers, officiating.
The burial will be made in the Highland Home Cemetery at Jamestown, ND.
Arrangements are by the Haut Funeral Homes in Jamestown, ND.
Prayer Service will be at 7:00 P.M. Thursday @ the funeral home
