Mamie Florence Wilen, 87, Gackle, ND died Tuesday January 8, 2013 at the Wishek Living Center in Wishek, ND.

Mamie Florence Wilen, 87, Gackle, ND died Tuesday January 8, 2013 at the Wishek Living Center in Wishek, ND.

Mamie Bakkila was born April 9, 1925 15 miles southwest of Gackle, ND, the daughter of John and Christina Bakkila. She attended school near Gackle.

She and Ernest Wilen were married November 15, 1945 at Gackle, ND. They made their home on the farm southwest of Gackle, ND. In March of 2009 she entered the Wishek Living Center.

She was a member of the Old Apostolic Church south of Gackle.

She is survived by 3 sons, Vernon (Linda) Wilen, Lehr, ND; Lyle (June) Wilen, Bismarck, ND; Todd (Ingrid) Wilen, Fredonia, ND; 2 daughters, Marcella (Friend- Ken Heier) Ruff, Bismarck, ND; Margaret (John) Stoltz, Rogers, ND; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren, and 1 sister-in-law, Martha Bakkila, Hudson, FL, and a family friend, Charlie Ruff, West Fargo, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 son, Loren, and all her brothers and sisters.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Saturday January 12, 2013 at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church south of Gackle, ND with Daryl Bellikka and Phillip Koljonen, officiating.

The interment will be at the Homola Cemetery south of Gackle.

Visitation: 9 AM – 7 PM Friday January 11, 2013 at the Haut Funeral chapel in Jamestown.

Arrangements are with the Haut Funeral Homes in Jamestown, ND.
