Raymond Millar

Raymond A. Millar, 97, of Phoenix, Az., formerly of 914 3rd Ave. NW, Jamestown, died the evening of Jan. 7, 2013, in Scottsdale Memorial Hospital. Millar had only recently moved to Phoenix, Az.

Raymond A. Millar, 97, of Phoenix, Az., formerly of 914 3rd Ave. NW, Jamestown, died the evening of Jan. 7, 2013, in Scottsdale Memorial Hospital. Millar had only recently moved to Phoenix, Az.

Born Oct. 6, 1915, in Jamestown, N.D., he was the son of Charles and Mary Millar. Mr. Millar worked for the Burlington Northern railroad as a conductor for 30 years. He was the local chairman of the UTU for about 25 years, during which time he negotiated many contracts to help fellow employees. He was also a member of the Elks Club.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Voracheck. He is survived by DeNee, his wife of 72 years; two daughters, RaNee Tuscano of Phoenix, Az., and Janice McDonald of Darien, Conn.; and 6 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Jan. 19 at the Whitney and Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix, Az. 85018. Condolences may be sent to 3636 N. 60th St., Phoenix, Az. 85018. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
