Marcella Baumann was born June 12, 1930 at Dickey, ND the daughter of George Baumann and Christina (Fode) Baumann. She received her elementary education in the local rural school and grew to womanhood in the vicinity.
She and Melvin L. Kamlitz were married July 25, 1950 at LaMoure, ND. They made their home and farmed in the Dickey and Berlin area until moving to Jamestown in 1970. She worked at Dakota Brands as a Bagel Processor until 2000 retiring after 30 years. Melvin passed away April 28, 1998. She entered Eventide at Hi-Acres June of 2011.
She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Jamestown. Marcella enjoyed baking, doing crossword puzzles and spending time with family and friends.
Surviving are her children, Marlene (Rodney) Speidel, Eldridge, ND, Linda (Randy) Erickson, Jamestown, ND, Marvin (Kelly) Kamlitz, Milnor, ND, Myron (Rhonda) Kamlitz, Jamestown, ND, 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren and 5 step-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter-in-law, Karen Kamlitz, 1 brother Gottlief, 2 sisters, Helen and Vedia and several half brothers and sisters.
Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM Monday January 21, 2013 in St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Jamestown, ND with Rev. Arlyn Coalter, pastor officiating.
Prayer Service: 7:00 PM Sunday at the Funeral Home.
Interment will be made in the Dickey Cemetery Dickey, ND.
