Earl H. Amundson, 92, died peacefully at Ave Maria Village on January 23, 2013. Earl was born in Jamestown, ND on May 15, 1920 to Oscar and Florence (Loomis) Amundson.

Earl H. Amundson, 92, died peacefully at Ave Maria Village on January 23, 2013.

Earl was born in Jamestown, ND on May 15, 1920 to Oscar and Florence (Loomis) Amundson. He graduated from Jamestown High School in 1938 and attended Jamestown College and Iowa State University graduating from Iowa State in 1943. After graduation he served in the US Army WWII until 1946. He married Nelda VanKeuren on December 21, 1944. They made their home in rural Jamestown where he was a farmer, rancher and businessman. After retirement they wintered in Arizona and Utah. Earl was an avid bowler and golfer and especially enjoyed playing the game of golf with his family and friends.

Earl is survived by his wife Nelda of 68 years; children, Jane Amundson (Robert Walkinshaw) of Arboles, Colorado and Van (Patricia) Amundson of Jamestown; grandchildren, Brian (Jennifer) Amundson and Amy (Marty) Walters, all of Jamestown. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Mason, Jackson, and Edison Walters and Sully Amundson.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Lenroot Amundson.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Ave Maria Village Chapel Fund, Jamestown College Amundson Scholarship, or Jamestown Regional Medical Center Hospice.

Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 28, 2013 at Grace Episcopal Church, Jamestown, ND with Father Kevin Goodrich and Father J. Bartley Davis officiating.

Visitation: None scheduled. Arrangements in the care of Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.

Interment: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, ND, at a later date.
