Donald M. Schwind, 62, Jamestown, ND died Saturday, February 2, 2013 in Cottage Grove, MN, under hospice care. Donald was born to Melvin and Erna (Reich) Schwind at Eureka, SD on June 6, 1950. He was baptized at New Kessel Reformed Church, Zeeland, ND and confirmed at Grace Reformed Church in Wishek, ND.
Donald M. Schwind, 62, Jamestown, ND died Saturday, February 2, 2013 in Cottage Grove, MN, under hospice care.
Donald was born to Melvin and Erna (Reich) Schwind at Eureka, SD on June 6, 1950. He was baptized at New Kessel Reformed Church, Zeeland, ND and confirmed at Grace Reformed Church in Wishek, ND. He attended and graduated from Jamestown High School. He entered the Army National Guard August 14, 1969 and was discharged August 13, 1975. He married Pamela Doyle of Jamestown on May 29, 1971 at the United Presbyterian Church in Jamestown. They moved to Minnesota in 1988 and he returned to Jamestown in 1998. He worked for Schwind Construction, Yellow Freight, UBC Lumber, Williams Construction and Merlygo Construction.
He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be missed dearly. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, stock car racing and riding his Harley.
He is survived by one daughter, Melida (Ralph) Raasch, Cottage Grove, MN; two sons, Scott, Jamestown and Donald, Jr, Cottage Grove, MN; one granddaughter, Serena Raasch, Cottage Grove, MN; mother, Erna Schwind; two brothers, Ronald (Cheryl) Schwind, Jeff Schwind; three sisters, Karon (Tom) Steckler, Sylvia (Don) Williams, all of Jamestown and Renee Schwind-Walch, Richardton, ND; and sixteen nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin; one brother, Todd; and one sister, Karol.
Memorial Service: 5:00 PM, Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the United Presbyterian Church, Jamestown.
No Visitation is scheduled.
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown.
