Lyle was born April 1, 1927 at Edgeley, ND, the son of Alfred and Florence Salzsieder. He grew up in the area.
He and Joan Qualley were married September 15, 1954 at Aberdeen, SD. They made their home in Valley City where he worked for Northern Improvement. He moved to Edgeley, ND where he farmed until 1975. He moved to Gackle and then later to Jamestown where he retired. In 2012 he entered the Eventide at Hi-Acres in Jamestown.
He is survived by his 2 daughters, Patricia (Kerry) Olson, Bismarck, ND; Kathy (Tim) Glaser, Lansford, ND; 5 grandchildren, Toby; Kari; Kyle; Miranda; Derek; 5 great grandchildren, Gitzie; Aisha; Aidan; Skyler and Nolan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Joan; son, and 1 sister.
Graveside Service - Mount Hope Cemetery in Edgeley, ND in the spring.
