Helen Marie Brown, 79, Oakes, N.D., died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008, at the Good Samaritan Society Oakes, Oakes.
Helen Willey was born July 11, 1929, at Milnor, N.D., the daughter of Newton and Lola Mae (Harvey) Willey. She attended school at Milnor. They moved to Oklahoma where she graduated from high school. They returned to the Milnor area. She married Edmond Lee Brown Jr. on Dec. 8, 1951. They lived and farmed in the Milnor area. In 1963 they moved to LaMoure, N.D. In 1969, she began working for a LaMoure nursing home. He died March 14, 2001. She entered the Good Samaritan Society Oakes, Oakes, in July 2008. She enjoyed repairing and refinishing antique furniture.
She is survived by two daughters, Cindy (Terry) Wood, Greybull, Wyo., and Lori (Kent) Peterson, LaMoure; a brother, Dallas, LaMoure; two sisters, Doris Hinshaw, Colorado, and Dorothy (Ed) Giger, Kansas; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, four brothers, two sisters and a granddaughter, Kellie Peterson.
Services: none planned. Arrangements by Dahlstrom Funeral Home, LaMoure.
Burial: Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery, near Verona. N.D.
