Magdalena Braun, 93, Napoleon, N.D., died Monday, March 9, 2009, at Napoleon Care Center, Napoleon. Magdalena Eckman was born Feb. 24, 1916, in McIntosh County, 14 miles southwest of Wishek, N.D., the daughter of Fredrick and Christina (Weisser) Eckman.

Magdalena Braun, 93, Napoleon, N.D., died Monday, March 9, 2009, at Napoleon Care Center, Napoleon.

Magdalena Eckman was born Feb. 24, 1916, in McIntosh County, 14 miles southwest of Wishek, N.D., the daughter of Fredrick and Christina (Weisser) Eckman. She attended a rural school. She married Sebastian Braun on Jan. 4, 1944, at Bismarck, N.D. They farmed until 1978 when they retired and moved to Napoleon. She worked at the Napoleon Care Center for 21 years. She entered the Napoleon Care Center July 19, 2005. She was a member of Golden Age Club, Christian Mothers Altar Society and St. Philip Neri Catholic Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary Braun (Dave Vollan), Bismarck; a son, Frank (Helen), Napoleon; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; an infant son; parents; three brothers, August, Edward and Theodore; and three sisters, Ottilia Just, Pauline Meidinger and Lydia Just.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Napoleon.

Prayer service: 7 p.m. Friday, Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Napoleon.

Visitation: 1 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Burial: St. Philip Neri Catholic Cemetery, Napoleon.
