Avon Allen, 74, Glen Ullin, N.D., formerly of New Salem, N.D., died Saturday, March 14, 2009, at St. Alexius Hospital, Bismarck, N.D. Avon Ringuette was born April 17, 1934, in Jamestown, the daughter of Harold and Marie (Knuth) Ringuette.

Avon Allen, 74, Glen Ullin, N.D., formerly of New Salem, N.D., died Saturday, March 14, 2009, at St. Alexius Hospital, Bismarck, N.D.

Avon Ringuette was born April 17, 1934, in Jamestown, the daughter of Harold and Marie (Knuth) Ringuette. She grew up and attended school in Jamestown. She moved to Texas where she received a bachelor’s degree in geriatric care, became a nurse and was involved in social work. She moved to Minneapolis and received a diploma and license in ministerial studies. She married Corie Allen in Minneapolis. She retired from Hennepin County Social Services and moved to New Salem after her husband’s death. She was active in the Word of Life Baptist Church with her puppet ministry and teaching Sunday school. She moved to Marian Manor Health Care Center, Glen Ullin, in February 2009.

She is survived by two brothers, Richard (Betty), New Salem, and Ronald (Marge), Jamestown.

Memorial service: 1 p.m. Saturday, Word of Life Baptist Church, New Salem, with the Rev. Galen Lennick officiating.

Visitation: none planned. Arrangements by Spangelo Funeral Home, Glen Ullin.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, in the spring.
