Emma M. (Schuldheisz) Staeck, 101 of Ellendale, ND formerly of Kulm, ND was born March 18, 1908, at Wichita Falls TX. She was the daughter of Jacob and Christine (Hehr) Schuldheisz.

Emma M. (Schuldheisz) Staeck, 101 of Ellendale, ND formerly of Kulm, ND was born March 18, 1908, at Wichita Falls TX. She was the daughter of Jacob and Christine (Hehr) Schuldheisz. Emma was baptized in Wichita Falls May 3, 1908. Emma was raised on a farm 6 1/2 miles southeast of Kulm. She attended rural school, Dickey County, ND. Emma was confirmed Palm Sunday, March 25, 1923 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kulm where she publicly confessed the faith of her Baptism.

Emma married William G. Staeck November 28, 1927. God blessed them with two children, Dewayne and Jeanella. The couple farmed in the Kulm area until 1969 when they retired and moved to Kulm due to William’s health. William died March 14, 1978. Emma was steadfast in the profession of her faith until her death. In December 1999, Emma moved to Ellendale where she resided at Prince of Peace Care Center until she entered God’s Kingdom of Glory July 1, 2009. Blessed are the dead, which die in the Lord. Emma was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kulm, the Lutheran Women’s’ Missionary League (LWML) and the Friendship Senior Citizens of Kulm. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, scrapbooking, and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter: Jeanella “Jean” (James) Johnson, Ellendale, ND; six grandchildren: Dewayne William (Christine), Darren Robert (Kim), DeNae Beth Staeck, Timothy (Nina) Johnson, Thomas (Kimberly) Johnson, Tracy (Todd) Stromswold; 11 great-grandchildren, Kimberly, Page, Sara, Natasha, Bailey, Alisa, Taylor, Abigail, Emma, Kaitlyn and Andrew; one brother: Lawrence Schuldheisz, Orlando, FL; one sister: Margaret McCabe, Cotati, CA; one sister-in-law: Ruth Schuldheisz, Kulm, ND. Emma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son and daughter-in-law: Dewayne & DeAnn Staeck, one grandson, two brothers and five sisters.

Funeral: 2pm Monday at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kulm, ND with Pastor Alan Eppen officiating.

Visitation: 2-6pm Sunday and prayer service at 5pm at Hoven Funeral Chapel, Ellendale. Visitation also one hour prior to the church service.

Burial: St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Kulm. Arrangements by: Hoven Funeral Chapel, Ellendale.
