Helen Timm, 82, Kensal, ND

Helen Timm, age 82, of Kensal, ND, died Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at Carrington Health Center, Carrington, ND.

Helen Eloise Neva was born February 8, 1927, the daughter of Frank and Helen (Hoffman) Neva Jr. at Kensal. She graduated from Kensal High School and attended Valley City State University. Helen taught at a Stutsman county rural school south of Kensal.

She married Robert Timm on November 20, 1947, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Kensal, ND. After raising 12 children on the family farm NW of Kensal, Helen worked as Postmaster at the Kensal Post Office for many years. She had a passion for baking home-made buns for her loving family. Her hobbies included gardening, collecting stamps and owls. She also enjoyed following the local high school sports on TV and radio.

Helen is survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert; five sons and seven daughters: Terry (Helen) Timm, Milnor, ND, James (Lyla) Timm, Bismarck, ND, Michael Timm, Kensal, ND, Curt (Tanya) Timm, Kensal, ND, Mark (Brenda) Timm, Lakewood CO, Lorraine (Dale) Lutjens, Bismarck, ND, Roberta (Scott) Edin, Amery, WI, Deborah (Denny) Kral, Princeton, MN, Peggy (Paul) Spitzer, Kensal, ND, Jeanne (David) Stautz, Roseville, MN, Barbara Greshik (John Kloeckner) Dilworth, MN, Lisa Olstad, Valley City, ND; thirty-two grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren; two brothers and one sister: James (Sharon) Neva, Kensal, ND, Duane (Vernette) Neva, Kensal, ND, and Janice (Reynold) Buchholz, Anamoose, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one granddaughter, Michelle Paasch; and one grandson, Bryan Edin.

The family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Association.

Visitation: Friday, 9:00 AM-4:00 PM at Evans Funeral Home, Carrington, ND,

and also 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM at St. John’s Catholic Church, Kensal, ND.

Prayer Service: Friday, 7:30 PM at St. John’s Catholic Church.

Funeral Service: St. John’s Catholic Church, Kensal, ND

Interment: St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Kensal, ND
